Partners and Perspectives
The Meewasin Valley is stronger today because of a legacy of volunteers, supporters and partners. A Steering Committee of key governments and institutions is guiding the process to consider possible designation as a national urban park:
City of Saskatoon
Government of Saskatchewan
Meewasin Valley Authority
Métis Nation-Saskatchewan
Parks Canada
Rural Municipality of Corman Park
Saskatoon Tribal Council
University of Saskatchewan
Wanuskewin Heritage Park
Saskatoon North Partnership For Growth
To begin the collaborative exploration process about the potential designation of a national urban park in the Saskatoon region, the Steering Committee sought input from diverse individuals, agencies and partners. By gathering local priorities and knowledge from across the region, including Traditional Knowledge from First Nation and Métis communities, we will shape what a potential nation urban park could look like and how it could enhance our natural and cultural assets, both for today and for future generations.
The organizations below were involved in initial engagement activities. Many more conversations, including opportunities for public dialogue, will occur as we move forward together.
